Trends forecasting

BIONIC FUTURE

This project explored the process of trend forecasting and formed a foundation for understanding of how to identify patterns and threads in order to establish future trend concepts and market opportunities. From research, ideas were developed to meet the future market and the changes that would face consumer demand, whilst still having the appropriate aesthetic to suit the prevailing mood of the consumer.  

 

The project was about the Zeitgeist and understanding how to define an era and the mood of a generation for the future. My own trend titles bionic future focused on the futuristic wonders of the universe and the fantastical possibilities of going above and beyond its limits. This project enabled me to forecast the essence of the future and develop ideas on how they will impact and how they have the potential to influence the Zeitgeist for 2017.  By conducting initial research into key drivers, and tribe innovators, this lead me to establish moods and themes and the important of adaptation of this trend through a consumer tribe analysis.

 

The trend book communicated how to trend will shape the aesthetic including; fabric, texture, print, shape, colour and key pieces. Throughout trends forecasting I was able to develop skills that I can utilize within fashion marketing, buying, trends forecasting and visual merchandising all with market and consumer driven outcomes.
